- Sinopse
Durante uma cerimônia de formatura para 522 alunos do colegial Preston Meyers (Ethan Embry), um jovem tímido, fica sabendo que Amanda Beckett (Jennifer Love Hewitt), a garota mais popular e desejada do colégio, foi abandonada por Mike Dexter (Peter Facinelli), seu namorado, que agora quer mulheres maduras e independentes, que acredita que encontrará na faculdade. Todos os alunos estarão em uma festa naquela noite e Preston confidencia para Denise Fleming (Lauren Ambrose), sua melhor amiga, que esta é a hora para declarar a Amanda que desde que a conheceu sempre a amou (e já se passaram quatro anos). Esta noite é a noite que Preston terá a oportunidade de dar a Amanda a carta que ele lhe escreveu e revisou infinitas vezes, desde quando ela se envolveu com Dexter, o melhor atleta do colégio. Mas se para ele pode ser um momento mágico para a grande maioria é uma noite de comemoração, onde o sexo, drogas e rock'n'roll, juntamente com alguma aventura e romance, filosofia e estilo de vida, podem ser os componentes de uma noite memorável. Porém, este frenesi acaba dificultando Preston no seu intento e, paralelamente, William Lichter (Charlie Korsmo), um ótimo aluno, planeja se vingar, pois sempre foi humilhado por Dexter e seus amigos. Além disto Kenny Fisher (Seth Green) pretende perder sua virgindade para uma jovem, mas tem seus planos alterados quando fica preso em um banheiro com Denise. Resumindo, são diversos os fatores que podem dificultar os planos de Preston e talvez Amanda nunca saiba do seu amor, mas se o destino quiser ajudar a carta poderá chegar nas mãos dela.
